To our Guests...
Thank you for checking out our web site to learn more about us. Below is some general information about what your might experience if you were to attend one of our worship services. We follow the scriptures and the example of the first century Christians.
Congregational singing One of the things you will notice is that we use congregational singing. That is when everyone sings together. We encourage every person to participate. You may notice that we do not use musical instruments to accompany our singing. Our emphasis is praising God with the fruit of our lips, making melody in our hearts. Each one is therefore an instrument unto God. Please refer to these scriptures for more information. Romans 6:12-13 Hebrews 13:15 Ephesians 5:19 Colossians 3:16-17
Prayer When prayers are led, please join the leader by thinking the words and thoughts in your own mind. Let the words of the leader become your own words as we all give praise to God and ask his blessings. Please refer to these scriptures for more information. I Corinthians 14:15-16 I Timothy 2:1-2, 8 James 5:16
Lords Supper One of the central parts of our worship each week is the Lord's Supper or Communion. This is the memorial of the body and the blood of Jesus, given on the cross to atone for the sins of every person. The communion service is an every Sunday practice here because it is an avenue of worship provided by God. It enables us to reflect on the meaning of Christ's death, to the Christian, a fact that we wish to emphasize every Lord's day and proclaim by this also our confidence in His resurrection and that he will come again. Please refer to these scriptures for more information. Matthew 26:26-29 I Corinthians 10:15-17, 11:23-29, 15:1-19 Acts 20:7
Contribution When the contribution is taken, you as our guest would not be expected to give, however you may if you wish. If you are visiting from another congregation, we hope that you keep your commitment to your home congregation. The members here are asked to give on a weekly basis, to support the Lord's work here. Please refer to these scriptures for more information. I Corinthians 9:11-14, 16:1-2 2 Corinthians 8:1-5, 9:6-11
Scriptural Based Sermons/ Classes During the sermon we will be sharing a message from Scriptures. It is important for us to study God's word and learn His message for our lives today. We want our lives and our worship to bring glory to God. Please refer to these scriptures for more information. I Timothy 4:16 Acts 17:11 2 Timothy 2:15, 4:1-4 I Peter 1:22-25
Baptism If you see a baptism when you visit with us, it will be by immersion in water, in accordance to the Gospel for the forgiveness of sin. This follows the teaching of Christ and the first century church. When a person is baptized, their sins are forgiven and washed away by the blood of Jesus, upon this faith response they are added by the Lord to the Church.
